Privacy Policy
1. Scope and who operates this website
This Privacy Policy explains how Josh’s Web Solutions collects, uses, retains, and discloses personal information through this website and its forms. Josh’s Web Solutions may also operate or identify itself as Josh’s Computer Services, Josh, or Josh Jovovich. In this policy, those names are referred to collectively as “Josh’s Web Solutions,” “JWS,” “Josh,” “we,” “us,” or “our.”
This policy applies to the JWS website, the Project Inquiry form, and the Website Assessment form. It does not govern the independent websites displayed in portfolio previews, external websites reached through links, or a client’s own website or business practices. Those properties may have their own privacy notices and controls.
2. Information we collect
We collect information you choose to provide and limited technical information generated when the website is delivered or secured. The categories below describe information collected now or that may have been collected during the preceding 12 months.
| Category | Examples and sources | Primary purposes |
|---|---|---|
| Identifiers and contact information | Name, business name, email address, phone number, and current website address that you enter in a form or communication. | Responding to requests, discussing potential work, providing an assessment, and maintaining records. |
| Project and commercial information | Requested service, project description, preferred timeline, budget range, website concerns, and other details you voluntarily submit. | Evaluating your request, preparing a response, planning potential services, and preventing abuse. |
| Communications | Messages sent through the website and any later correspondence or notes relating to your inquiry. | Communicating with you, providing requested information, and maintaining business records. |
| Internet and network activity | IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, request date and time, pages or resources requested, and security or spam signals that may be processed automatically by hosting and form-protection providers. | Delivering the website, diagnosing problems, maintaining security, filtering spam, and preventing fraud. |
Please do not submit Social Security numbers, payment-card information, government identification, medical information, account passwords, or other sensitive personal information through these forms. The forms are not intended to collect that information.
3. How we use information
We may use personal information to:
- review and respond to project inquiries and website-assessment requests;
- communicate about possible or current services;
- understand a business’s website, goals, and technical needs;
- operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and secure the website and forms;
- identify spam, malicious submissions, fraud, or misuse;
- maintain appropriate business, legal, and tax records;
- establish, exercise, or defend legal claims; and
- comply with applicable law and lawful requests.
Submitting a form authorizes us to respond to that request. It does not enroll you in an advertising list, and we do not currently use submitted form information for automated marketing campaigns.
4. Hosting, forms, spam protection, and live previews
Netlify
This website is hosted through Netlify. Netlify delivers the static website and processes submissions made through Netlify Forms on our behalf. Form submissions are stored in the site’s Netlify account so Josh can review and respond to them. Netlify may also process device, network, service, and security information needed to provide and protect its services. Review the Netlify Privacy Statement ↗.
Akismet spam filtering
Netlify states that form submissions are automatically filtered for spam using Akismet, a service operated by Automattic. Information associated with a submission may therefore be evaluated for spam and abuse prevention. Review Akismet’s privacy information ↗.
Interactive portfolio previews
Portfolio examples begin as locally hosted poster images. A live external website is not loaded until you select “Explore the site live” or open an expanded preview. When activated, the selected website is loaded inside an embedded frame from its own domain. That domain and its service providers receive ordinary web-request information, such as your IP address, browser information, and the requested resource. The embedded site may also use its own cookies, forms, maps, fonts, analytics, or privacy controls.
Current previews may include Google Maps, Google Fonts, and, on the HAP Auto Recycling website, Google Analytics 4 subject to that site’s consent controls. Information processed by Google is governed by the Google Privacy Policy ↗. You can avoid those external requests by leaving previews in their poster state.
6. When information may be disclosed
We may disclose personal information only as reasonably necessary to:
- service providers that host, secure, maintain, or support the website and forms, including Netlify and its form-spam filtering providers;
- professional advisers, such as legal, accounting, insurance, or security professionals, when their services reasonably require the information;
- comply with law, court orders, subpoenas, or lawful government requests;
- protect the rights, safety, property, systems, or users of JWS or others;
- complete a reorganization, financing, merger, sale, or transfer of all or part of the business, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal requirements; or
- carry out another purpose you direct or consent to.
JWS does not sell personal information. JWS does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. JWS does not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct-marketing purposes and does not offer financial incentives for personal information.
7. Retention and security
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. Retention depends on the nature of the inquiry, whether a business relationship begins, follow-up needs, security concerns, dispute risk, and legal, accounting, or tax requirements. Information that is no longer reasonably needed is deleted, de-identified, or allowed to expire in the ordinary course. Service providers may maintain their own retention schedules.
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information. However, no website, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Do not submit sensitive information through the website forms.
8. California privacy rights
California residents may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CCPA”), when that law applies to a business and the information at issue. Those rights may include the right to:
- know the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected;
- know the sources, purposes, and categories of recipients;
- request deletion of personal information, subject to legal exceptions;
- request correction of inaccurate personal information;
- opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information;
- limit certain uses or disclosures of sensitive personal information; and
- receive equal service and not be retaliated against for exercising privacy rights.
JWS does not currently sell or share personal information as those terms are used for California cross-context behavioral advertising, and it does not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics. Accordingly, a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link and a “Limit the Use of My Sensitive Personal Information” link are not currently necessary based on these practices.
To make a privacy request, use the Project Inquiry form, select “Not sure yet,” and begin the project-description field with “Privacy Request.” Describe the request and identify the email address used in your original submission. We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify your identity and protect against fraudulent requests. An authorized agent may submit a request, but we may require proof of authority and direct identity verification where permitted. We will respond within the period required by applicable law.
Even if JWS is not legally subject to every CCPA provision, we will evaluate reasonable requests to access, correct, or delete information in good faith, subject to identity verification and legitimate retention needs.
9. Your choices
- You may choose not to submit a form and may contact Josh through another established channel.
- You may leave every portfolio example in poster mode to avoid loading the external website.
- You may request access, correction, or deletion as described above.
- You may configure browser settings to restrict cookies or third-party content.
10. Children’s privacy
This website and its business-development forms are intended for adults and businesses, not children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us so the information can be reviewed and deleted as appropriate. JWS does not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when practices, services, or legal requirements change. The revised policy will be posted at this location with a new effective date. If a change materially affects how previously collected personal information is used, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent when required by law.
12. Contact
Questions and privacy requests may be sent through the Project Inquiry form. Select “Not sure yet” and begin your message with “Privacy Request” so it can be identified promptly.
